Phillip Phillips vs. Cody Rhodes

Not even a second into Phillip Phillip's entrance music, the crowd erupted in cheers that drowned out Nothing. Phillip couldn't help but grin at the crowd's enthusiasm as he sprinted down the ramp, outstretching both his hands as he swerved from left to right in attempt to high-five the crowd's hands. Today, Phillip was wearing tights with a map, obviously to represent his determination to win the International Championship, with black wrist tape, elbow pads, and boots. After making it to the ring, he jumped up to the apron and violently shook the rope before jumping over it and dashing up to the top rope. He shouted a war cry of sorts as he held his arms out to the side, then jumped off before doing the same on the opposite turnbuckle. As he awaited Cody Rhodes' entrance, he leaned in his corner against the turnbuckle and adjusted his wrist tape.

Cody made his way to the ring in a black hoodie with the word "DASHING" embedded on the back of it.

He shielded the camera away from his face then slowly got in the ring, all this while never taking his eyes off of Phil.

He then took one quick glance at the international championship, then got to his corner and waited.

The ref raised the title for Phillip and Cody to see, then rang the bell.
Ding ding ding!

Phillip Phillips stared down Cody Rhodes, jogging in place, cracking his neck and shaking his hands. For the longest time they stared eachother down, but finally Cody advanced forward, then Phillip followed suit to lock up in a collar and elbow tie up.

Cody headbutted Phil in the face with the mask, and then hit a low blow.

"Stay down, you son of a bitch..."

He then went outside the ring and grabbed a metal garbage can.

Phillip held his crotch in pain as Cody re-entered the ring. Cody set down the trashcan, then lifted Phillip up. He went to toss Phillip into the trash can, but Phillip quickly spun around and instead tossed Cody into the can, head-first! Phillip kicked the can down, then, with Cody still in it, climbed up to the top rope and went for an elbow drop...

Cody scrambled out of the garbage can, picking it up and smashing it against Phil's head while he was on the top rope.

He then got up and went for a superplex..

Cody locked Phil in a front facelock, preparing for a superplex, but Phillip struggled to get out of it. Phillip nailed Cody in the gut a few times, but Cody got back with a headbutt that stunned Phillip long enough to successfully hit the superplex.

Cody then hit the superplex on top of the garbage can, then got up and leaned against the ropes, barely able to stand up, as the ref counted.

1... 2... 3... 4... 5...

Phillip slowly began to get on his knees, so the ref started counting. Cody noticed this and ran towards Phillip, then dropped to the ground and nailed him with a flurry of MMA-style punches. Phillip held his forearms in front of his face to block them, but the ref eventually pulled Cody away. As the ref lectured Rhodes, Phillip slowly got to his feet. When Cody turned around to get back at Phillip, he was nailed with a huge spear!

Cody held his abdomen, screaming in pain, as he tried to stand up..suddenly, one of the fans handed something to him without Phil noticing..

Phillip turned around and taunted the crowd after the spear, not noticing Cody coming up behind him...

Cody then nailed Phil in the back of the head with brass knuckles, echoing a loud *SMACK* throughout the arena.

Phillip crashed to the ground, then lay there motionless as the ref began to count.

1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10!

The brass knuckles really made an impact.

Ding ding ding!
And the winner of the first round... Cody... Rhodes!

The crowd booed as the referee grabbed a mic to have at the ready for the next round, an "I Quit" match.

Cody then grabbed the mic and started pummeling Phil with it.

He then got up and taunted to the crowd..

As Cody turned back around to get back at Phil, he was hit with a returning low blow, a huge kick to the balls by Phil. Cody fell to his knees, clutching his nuts in pain as Phillip searched under the ring. He eventually decided on a glass table; the typical cheap, chipboard table, but with a huge glass panel embedded in the middle. He set it up off to the side, then grabbed Cody by the head and smashed it into the barricade.

Cody's mask prevented most of the force of the attack, as he grabbed Phil's head and smashed it against the barricade repeatedly.

As Cody continously rammed Phillip's head into the barricade, he eventually managed to grab a hold of the barricade, preventing the blow. He countered with a back elbow, then turned back around to face Cody. He nailed him with a kick to the midsection, then shoved his head under his arm, hooked both his arms, then hit a double underhook suplex, right onto the barely protected floor.

Cody pulled some handcuffs and a kendo stick from under the ring, as he whipped Phil with the kendo stick a few times.

Cody began to repeatedly nail Phillip with the kendo stick, but Phil eventually grabbed it and pushed Cody away. Phillip hit a huge scoop slam on Cody, then backed up and nailed him with a flip senton. After the move, he lifted Cody and irish whipped him, sending him tripping over the steel steps and face-first onto the floor.

Cody held his leg, bleeding from the mouth as well.

He then ran forward and pushed the steel steps into Phil out of desperation.

Phillip was clobbered down by the steel steps. After pushing them away, Cody revealed a small bag that was hiding under the steps. Phil noticed it and slowly crawled over towards it, then grabbed it and looked inside. He grinned, then poured its contents all over the floor... thumbtacks!

Cody tackled Phil into the security barricade, headbutting him and setting up for the crossrhodes over the thumbtacks.
